In English 1301 we had to read chapter ten from "Everyone's An Author" focusing on report writing. This chapter uses a road map of ways in different types of report writings for your audience type. In report writing you need to be factual versus being opinionated to your readers. There are different ways in writing a report; such as, narratives, analyses, reviews, and arguments.

In this chapter they write about different stories in different ways of how to conduct reports. One of the stories talks about a male trying to sell “Street Roots” so he can sell all the items and go home. Even though he does not really have a home to go to. He out there day and night selling the street roots, each for a dollar, to hopefully get enough sold so he can go to the hostel instead of the shelter. He is homeless and has really no family to fall back on. He also had a rough time growing up with an abusive father and also started dating another male in school. Not only was that hurting him though his father, his boyfriend got him hooked on drugs. With that he was happy with his boyfriend that he even took him to meet his grandmother for thanksgiving, but even happiness can come to a crush. His boyfriend overdosed on drugs four days before Christmas.

Now with all that going on though his life, he is on the streets selling “Street Roots” to tourist outside a dough nut store. He wants to sell all he can so he can go back in see his grandmother. So you cannot take for granted what you have in life.
